Are we really architects?

Nowadays there are many words in our life. We use some words in Spanish to define something, we use others in English to define others and some other time we use specific words in the case where we cannot define, such as Wanderlust, toska, jays, among others. We are getting more knowledge from other languages, but we are forgetting that in many of them, there are words that we use that have got many meanings, and we even forget those.  In this case, the lecture is about how we, as people who study Computer Science, forget that theoretically, we need to have the knowledge of a software architect, in comparison with the people who just study a programming language in Udemy. As students, we should consider that all classes are important and that even those that we consider as "something we need to graduate".   According to the reading, there are many definitions that we can get from  "architect" and we mainly recognize it in another area. We use it in the case...

“God is in the details.”

When we talk about architecture,  what we normally think are buildings, their characteristics, how they make beautiful our city. We do not think about the time architects take to build something big and beautiful, and how changes affect the whole project.   We know that architecture is something that has been evolving since the beginning of time, where people tried to build what they needed. But also, this science has been evolving and the way people build takes more time and there is science behind every decision they make.   When we think about the software we do not identify this process that we need to follow to create something functional, useful and that will be used, we think about the algorithms or complexity of the problem.  We are not used to planning, hear the necessities that people have and even the methodology that we should follow to keep our software for future generations.   I consider that this practice...

Houston, Tranquillity Base here. The Eagle has landed

Throughout the years,  we have seen space as something far away and with lots of mysteries that we have not been able to solve or to even try to understand. An example of this is the "Dark Side of the moon" or even the theory of aliens and other lives.  Even though those things are still a mystery, we still have the fact that we have visited space and even landed on the moon. This moment was really hard due to the fact that technology was not advanced and there was not enough research for creating what we needed.  Also, it is important to mention that people who developed software did not have a methodology to follow, so there were many malpractices in the development of some of the programs.  In the case of the mission Apollo11, and the whole Apollo program, the US  government had some trouble due to the fact that they needed to ask universities to help them to develop the technology.  These requirements and the stress of the due date for the program...

We’re all stories, in the end.

Hello everyone, my name is Ana Paula, but as I like to use pseudonyms in my blogs,  so my name here will be The Doctor. I like programming classes, but I tend to have issues in those due to the fact that I have anxiety and I do like the things to work perfectly. Also, this is because I tend to compare myself to everyone else. Anyway, nowadays I know what I am capable of and that I have friends that support me and that asking the teacher for extra help is not bad. However, what I expect of this class is to be just as the first class where we learned and play to reinfoce the knowledge. What I like is music, reading, and dancing. You can see me every day with a book in my hands and my headphones in the other. My favorite book is "the stranger" by Albert Camus because I have always thought that I do not belong to. Lately I've been  reading classic books and some  about philosophy, and the  one that has catched my attention  is  " The Russian Revol...
